July 27 - 29 at the Rheinaue What awaits you at the 23rd Bonn Beer Exchange

BONN.  · It’s that time of year again for the Bonner Bierbörse (Bonn Beer Exchange) at the Rheinaue Park in Bonn. The event takes place this weekend from July 27 - 29 - a fitting and popular event for a country known for its beer.

This weekend, from the 27th to the 29th of July, beer lovers can taste their favorite brew in the park at the Rheinaue. More than 80 beer distributors from all over Germany will offer more than 700 kinds of beers this year. Whether with or without alcohol - from the Rhenish Kölsch to beers from Croatia and Singapore, you will find every kind of beer.

Whether there are any visitors from Estonia who come to the beer market this weekend remains to be seen. But if there are any, they will be pleased because one of the two beers which will be offered for the first time at the Rheinaue comes from their home country. It's called Saku, just like the country's oldest brewery in the Baltics. The original is mild, a bit sweet and smooth, but a stronger beer variety is also offered.

The other novelty is the Allgäu Büble, which is served in three varieties. On the label you can see a boy holding a beer mug. "In the Rhineland, such a thing would probably not be allowed," joked event organizer Werner Nolden at the press conference for the 23rd Beer Exchange.

From Astra to Neuzeller Klosterbier, from Kölsch to Pils, from Grimbergen to Budweiser, from Africa to Scotland and from the Croatian Karlovacko to the Greek Mythos, all the bases are covered. The Störtebeker ship and the Mühlenkölsch mill contribute to the visual diversity on the Rheinaue lawn.

The beer exchange is composed of around two thirds beer vendors and one third snack bars so one can have a bite to eat in between the beer tasting. The generously built beer gardens invite you to one big beer tasting for three days in a cozy atmosphere. But you don’t necessarily have to taste the beer only on location. Numerous bottled beers can be bought and taken home.

According to the organizer, a security concept is in place and special transportation concessions have been made. On Saturday, the trams will run every 15 minutes from 10:30 pm to 1 am as opposed to every half hour like normal. Organizers want to avoid long waiting times and traffic jams for those who are leaving.
